Applications of Laser Raman Spectroscopy

چکیده
Raman spectroscopy has undergone a technical revolution during the last fifteen years. Following a brief introduction to the physical principles we present recent applications to materials of technological interest. Nearinfrared excitation, in particular, offers the ability to measure the Raman spectrum in the absence of undesired absorption and photoreactions. The combination of Raman spectroscopy with microscopic techniques allows the study of materials on the micron scale with high molecular specificity. In the microstructural analysis of waveguide devices Raman spectroscopy employing integrated optical techniques can be extremely sensitive. As an example we review recent results on chalcogenide waveguides. ∗ Author to whom correspondence should be sent. email: [email protected]

Laser Micro-Raman Spectroscopy of CVD Nanocrystalline Diamond Thin Film
Laser micro-Raman spectroscopy is an ideal tool for assessment and characterization of various types of carbon-based materials. Due to its special optical properties (CrN) coated stainless steel substrates. NCD films have been investigated by laser micro-Raman spectroscopy. The fingerprint of diamond based materials is in the spectral region of 1000-1600 cm-1 in the first order of Raman scatter...
متن کاملBiosensing Based on Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy by Using Metal Nanoparticles
Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is a promising tool in the analytical science because it provides good selectivity and sensitivity without the labeling process required by fluorescence detection. This technique consists of locating the target analyte on nanometer range of roughed Au-nanoparticles. The presence of the metal nanoparticles provides a tremendous enhancement to the result...

متن کاملFT-Raman Spectroscopic Studies of Nd/YAG Laser Irradiated Human Dental Enamel
FTR-Raman Spectra of human dental enamel, both laser-irradiated and untreated, are reported. Spectra are compared with hydroxyapatite. It is evident that unlike the CO2 laser, the Nd/YAG laser does not induce any chemical change in dental enamel.
متن کاملDetection of Glucose Levels Using Excitation and Difference Raman Spectroscopy at the IUSL
Raman spectroscopy such as spontaneous Raman spectroscopy, coherent anti-stokes Raman spectroscopy, and stimulated Raman gain spectroscopy are widely used in physics, chemistry and biology fields for investigations of vibrational modes. To our best knowledge, very few applications of Raman spectroscopy for the in-vitro and invivo patient medical diagnostics have been reported because of low sig...
